David Askevold
David Askevold (1940-2008) is a Canadian Photographer Artist. Born and educated in United States, in 1968 he moved to Halifax (New Ecosse) from California. Askevold spent much of his career in Canada.
In the early 1970s, David Askevold became a pioneer of Conceptual Video and Design Photography Art.
Askevold was also a highly influential teacher at School in Canada (Nova Scotia College of Art and Design) and in the United States (York University, California Institute of the Arts).
He developed and led the legendary Project Class that is still widely regarded as a radical innovation in contemporary art pedagogy.
